more uppingdate

I've got photos of my car and some of the trip. It was great to see Danny and his family again. The morning i had just opened my eyes when lil' Jonah walks in smiling, the first one up of course. Anyway, unbeknown to the rest, he and I engaged in some pretty intense conversation. I was suprised at how little he really cared who I was at first, he already knew I was a friend. Pretty soon Leah came in and we started having a lot of fun. Aleena got up to get ready and was scared that the kids were playing to loudly and they were going to wake me up...when I was somewhat the culprit of the noise. Anyway, we said our goodbye's and we were off. Danny at the warehouse loaded my up with a bunch of supplies (drinks, chips, candybars) so I was set for the trip. I drove about 2o miles and stopped to fill up, check tires and oil, yadda yadda. I made it home, and she's beautiful!
If you find this without photos, just wait, they'll get there.

Best photo on this computer

Alright!

So I'll take the long hard step to through and update to the family blog.
I'm currently working at APX Alarm "Protecting Families" (i'm sure you've seen the billboards) and making some new friends so I'm feeling good about that. I also will be using my spanish in that job, and that's another plus plus.
Wednesday the 22nd I'm flying out to California to pick up my love, her name starts with an 'S', and you guessed it', it's a "Subie"...and if that's not confusing enough it's my new car. Not so new, but it is mine, yay. Did somebody say "roadtrip to ANYWHERE?"...I had bankok in mind

I'm checking out the aviation program at UVU, it seems pretty sweet. They have beautiful airplanes anyway...

I'm super glad to be home. I'm loving the food and the friends. There is so much goodness it's hard to keep foccused.

Until later...

Because "Eye" Know

Well Lex, here are the answers to all your questions, because I know:
Swen is working in Oregon each weekend to participate in Wicked. Ang's baby is actually a little girl AND a little boy! (due sometime in next 2 week). You're unfortunately moving here to San Fransisco...oops I mean Iowa. Sam has been accepted to BYU, but refused and accepted his swimming scholorship to the U. I'm moving to Minnesota so I can vote for marriage between cats and dogs. Trevor has been married now for 1 month. Devin was called back to Chile to serve another year. And poor Chris has the chicken pox and just found out that his hernia has doubled in length.
So now you're updated.
Lots of love!

Family Love

Just a reminder of family love . . .

This picture cracks me up, so I thought I'd share. We're lost without family, so keep the updates coming!

What? Swen's in California getting paid 1 million a year? Angela had her baby? Sam's engaged? Allison is moving to NC? Trevor's changing majors? Devin is dating someone? Christian got accepted to BYU? What's going on here???

IT'S SPRING!!

It's April!! Any great April Fools moments? Nature left snow on the ground here as a little joke. Chris was sick Wednesday morning, went to school in the afternoon to take a horrible biology test--sure he'd bombed it--just to find out it wasn't for real. Whew.

Devin's homecoming weekend was joyful. Allison's arrival was timely as she helped me prioritize and simplify--food won out over cleaning. The weather was thankfully warm. Thanks to all of you for your enthusiasm and support. When I thought about how I felt after our missionary arrived home, I realized that a little nagging longing feeling was gone and I just felt peaceful. We surely missed the Johansens, but Skype helped out, and we are looking forward to our trip in May and this summer when we can ALL be together again. (WARNING: We are hoping to get some pictures then.)

Dad had a memorable moment when the bishop had him stand with all six sons during Priesthood meeting. They may tower over him, but he surely stands tall as great example.

A few updates: Swen and Becca took their family to Oregon, went to Wicked, and celebrated Swen's 35th birthday there. Mike's ward basketball team overcame one loss to win the Region Championship--Wahoo! Alexis and Paul are looking for a new car (right?) ;). To our delight, Sam and Trevor came home 2 weekends in a row. Allison earned halo points by remaining positive and patient through 2 weeks without Ted, without much sleep, and while handling a sick little Chloe. Happily, Grams had lots of bonding time with Porter. Allie, Trev, Dev, and Chris did go snowboarding at Brighton and had a super time. We're happy the Butterfields are back together, though it was a little sad to take the notes down that say "Shh. Baby Asleep." Devin is busy looking for a car, a cellphone and a job. Chris has a small hernia, but it won't stop him from playing volleyball, which he's loving.

What is one of the best things since Devin returned? The sound of piano music in our home again (and hugs).

Much love,
Mumsie
