The Wedding Day: I hope everyone had as much fun as I did on Friday--Trevor and Hillary's wedding day! At the end of the day, my heart was filled with gratitude for each person who had a part in making the day such a success--from those who had worked for weeks helping to get the yard and house in shape--to those who were there at just the right time to complete the finishing touches. My deep appreciation goes to those who worked at the house and those who watched children so others could be here (including Paul and Ted).
The Wedding Breakfast: The White Willow did a great job--lovely table-settings and yummy food; the Wedding Toast, friendly roasts, and bits of advice were positive, humorous, and a bit touching--just right.
The Temple: The Lord watches out for us. Stan arrived just in time to rescue Dad, who had been left waiting downstairs, and got him to the sealing room. Brother Featherstone had a sweet sensitivity to both Trevor and Hillary, and his comments were almost fatherly, blended with great humor. What a joy to have so many of our family in the Temple together. And how great for all who welcomed the bride and groom as they came forth from the temple doors. Wow! Prince Charming and Cinderella come to life. Thank you Trev and Hill for making the decision to seal your love eternally.
Reception Prep: Linens, chairs, flowers, hooks, ribbon, candles, mailbox plaque...I'm not even sure of all the things everyone did in the scramble to get ready, but Voila! It was done! (And Trevor and Hillary got a little nap on the couch, too.)
The Reception: What a party! The yard was beautiful, the lights were festive, the flowers were splendid, the food was tasty, the golf cart was a hit (oops), the musical entertainment was classy, the guests were comfortable, the grandkids were cute, and ooh la la--the women were gorgeous and the men were so good-lookin'! I loved the whole evening, and I hope it created lasting memories for all.
